Hounslow Council does not currently provide a recycling collection service for residents living in flats above shops. If residents wish to recycle, the only alternative is to travel to a local recycling centre. This is not an accessible option to many residents. As Hounslow Council declared a Climate Emergency in June 2019 and committed to reducing the council's carbon footprint, they must make a greater effort to reduce waste and allow all of their residents to recycle without difficulty. We implore Hounslow Council to provide a doorstep recycling service for all residents living in flats above shops, as is provided for residents living in houses and blocks of flats.
