We the undersigned petition Hounslow Council to Request London Underground to install proper lifts at Hounslow West Tube Station. More details

More details from petition creator

Request London Underground to install proper lifts at Hounslow West Tube Station in order to provide full step free access from train to street level as every day thousands of people with heavy luggage going to and from the airport struggle and face great difficulty. In addition, an increasing number of elderly and disabled people with baggage find it extremely hard to use the stairs. The existing wheelchair user lift (Mobility Impaired Person only) is not fit for purpose for such a busy station. London Underground has to comply with European transport directive which says by 2020 all stations should be step free. Work is already in progress at some stations, but it requires pressure from council to get it done as soon as possible. We would like Hounslow council to ask Mayer of London responsible for Transport for London to get these lifts installed on priority basis keeping in mind welfare of rapidly growing elderly population in and around Hounslow West Tube Station.
